Destination wedding in Andalusia: planning it from abroad

A destination wedding in Andalusia works when someone on the ground handles what you cannot handle remotely: visiting venues, negotiating with Spanish-speaking vendors and holding the timeline together on the day. Here is what to plan for.

What we handle in a destination wedding

We search and visit venues, select trusted vendors, coordinate guest arrivals and departures, and build a run sheet for the whole weekend, not just the wedding day.

    • Guidance on the legal paperwork
    • Venue search and site visits
    • Travel and guest accommodation coordination
    • Local expertise: food, transport, activities

    Couples coming from abroad

We regularly work with international couples marrying in Spain. We work in Spanish, English and French and act as the link with local vendors so language is never an obstacle.

If you are marrying as foreign nationals, administrative deadlines matter as much as catering ones: review them at the start, not at the end.

    Planning the wedding remotely

Most of the process runs over video calls, with in-person visits concentrated into a few trips. We record videos and photos of the venues when you cannot come, and attend tastings on your behalf.

    Choosing where in Andalusia

Seville offers haciendas and good flight connections. Cádiz, Sanlúcar and El Puerto bring the sea, the light and a food culture of their own. Ronda and the mountains suit smaller, scenic weddings. Granada and Córdoba bring monumental heritage.

In practice the deciding factor is guest logistics: a nearby airport, enough hotel rooms within 30 minutes and simple transfers between accommodation and venue.

Your guests are part of the project

At a destination wedding guests travel and stay several days, so it stops being a single event. A welcome dinner the night before and a brunch the day after are the norm.

Block hotel rooms early, send travel information well in advance and organise coach transport: it prevents delays and means nobody has to drive.

    • Hotel blocks at two price points
    • Guest website or document with travel, dress code and timings
    • Return coaches between hotel and venue

    Paperwork: civil or symbolic ceremony

A civil marriage in Spain for non-residents involves procedures that can take months. Many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Andalusia, with complete freedom over the script and the location.

For a religious ceremony, requirements depend on the parish and on documents issued in your home country; start around a year ahead.

How we work with couples abroad

Regular video calls, side-by-side vendor proposals with translated quotes, filmed venue visits when you cannot travel, and a single point of contact with every local supplier.

On the day we run the setup, the timings and whatever comes up. Our closest reference is Rhianna and Javier, a London-based couple who married in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

    FAQ

How many times do we need to travel to Spain?
One or two visits is usually enough: one to choose the venue and one for the tasting and final details.
    Can you handle guest accommodation?
Yes. We negotiate hotel blocks and arrange transfers between accommodation and venue.
Do you plan weddings outside Andalusia?
Yes. We plan destination weddings and celebrations away from home, coordinating venues, vendors, travel and timing.
Can we organise everything without travelling?
Almost the entire process can run over video calls. We recommend at least one visit to see the venue before booking it.
Which languages do you work in?
    Spanish, English and French.
