How much a wedding in Seville costs: where the budget goes

There is no single price: a 70-guest wedding and a 200-guest wedding have nothing in common. What does repeat is how the spending splits. Understanding that split is what lets you decide where to invest and where to trim. The percentages below reflect what we typically see in the weddings we plan; always get real quotes for your own date.

    How the budget splits

In a Seville wedding, catering is almost always the largest item and grows with every guest. The venue is a fixed cost. Everything else sits between those two.

    • Catering and drinks: roughly 45–55% of the total
    • Venue hire: 10–15%
    • Photography and video: 8–12%
    • Flowers, décor and furniture: 8–12%
    • Music and entertainment: 5–8%
    • Wedding planner: 8–12%
    • Stationery, transport, favours and contingency: the rest

    What pushes the cost up

Three factors explain most of the difference between two similar weddings: guest count, day of the week and season. A Saturday in May costs more than a Friday in March at the same venue.

After that come production choices: seasonal versus imported flowers, premium rental furniture, a premium open bar, fireworks or a climate-controlled marquee.

    Where it is worth investing

Guests remember three things: whether they ate well, whether they danced and whether they were comfortable. Food, music and comfort — temperature, shade, seating, bathrooms — are where cutting shows.

Then there is photography and video, the only part that stays once the day is over.

    How we handle the budget

We start from the figure you want to spend, not from a wish list. From there we build a line-by-line budget, request comparable vendor offers and flag when one decision unbalances the whole.

Used properly, a planner is not an added cost: it prevents expensive bad bookings and negotiates terms a couple rarely gets alone.

    FAQ

How much does a wedding planner in Seville cost?
It depends on scope: full planning, partial advice or day-of coordination only. It usually sits around 8–12% of the total budget. We give you a fixed figure after the first consultation, which is free.
Can the budget be trimmed without it showing?
Yes: fewer guests, a Friday or Sunday, a date outside peak season and seasonal flowers. Those are the adjustments guests notice least.
    When is everything paid?
Typically a deposit when booking each vendor, an interim payment and the balance in the days before the wedding. We map this into a payment calendar from the start.
