Haciendas for weddings in Seville: how to choose yours

The Sevillian hacienda is a very specific kind of venue: a former farming estate with courtyards, a chapel and halls, built to host large celebrations. Not all of them suit every wedding. These are the criteria we use to rule venues out quickly.

    Real capacity, not theoretical capacity

The number on a venue's website is usually the absolute maximum. What matters is how many guests fit comfortably once you add a dance floor, a bar area and circulation space — and whether the indoor backup holds the same number.

Under 60 guests, a large hacienda can feel empty; smaller venues or self-contained courtyards work far better.

    In-house or open catering

Many haciendas work with in-house catering or a closed vendor list. That simplifies logistics but limits menu and price. Others allow open catering for a kitchen usage fee.

This is the single decision with the biggest impact on budget and on guest experience, so settle it before falling in love with a place.

    Music curfew and neighbours

Venues close to towns have strict curfews and sometimes a sound limiter. Isolated estates let the party run longer.

Always ask for the exact cut-off time for outdoor and indoor music, and whether extending costs extra.

    • Outdoor and indoor music cut-off times
    • Whether a decibel limiter is installed
    • Cost of extra hours and the latest possible finish

Questions we ask at every visit

These are the ones that prevent surprises once there is no going back.

    • What exactly does the rental include: furniture, bathrooms, staff, lighting?
    • What is the rain and extreme-heat plan, and when is it decided?
    • Is there on-site accommodation, or how many rooms within 15 minutes?
    • What time can setup start and when must everything be removed?
    • Is there enough parking and coach access?
