Getting married in Seville: a complete planning guide
Seville gives couples almost everything they look for: light, centuries-old haciendas, excellent food and a historic centre that works as a natural backdrop. It also has its own rules — July and August heat, the April Fair and Holy Week all shape which dates are realistic. This guide is what we explain to couples starting to plan a wedding here.
The best time of year to marry in Seville
Peak season is spring (late April to mid June) and autumn (September to early November). Those months give comfortable temperatures for an outdoor ceremony and the best late-afternoon light for photography.
July and August are possible but require deliberate choices: a late ceremony, genuine shade, fans and water, and a cooling plan for the cocktail hour. December and January work well for indoor weddings at haciendas with a proper hall.
Avoid Holy Week and the April Fair. The city fills up, accommodation prices jump and getting guests around becomes difficult.

Venue types: hacienda, cortijo, palace or country estate
The hacienda is Seville's signature format: whitewashed courtyards, olive trees, a private chapel and room for ceremony, cocktail and dinner without moving guests. Most sit 20–45 minutes from the city centre.
City-centre palaces give a more urban, elegant result, usually with smaller capacities and stricter noise rules. Country estates in the Aljarafe or the surrounding farmland allow more freedom with timings and production.
Before signing any venue, check three things: the music curfew, whether catering is in-house or open, and the real wet-weather and extreme-heat backup.
Timeline: when to book what
Book venue and date 12–18 months ahead; it drives everything else. Between 12 and 9 months you close catering, photography and music, which sell out first in peak season.
From 6 to 3 months you work on design, stationery, protocol and tastings. The final month is confirmations, seating and a minute-by-minute timeline.

Planning from abroad
Most of our international couples visit Seville once or twice before the wedding. We handle everything else by video call and shared documents, with vendor shortlists, photos and quotes translated and compared so decisions can be made remotely.

- How far in advance should we book a hacienda in Seville?
- For Saturdays in May, June, September and October, 12 to 18 months. Outside peak season, 8–10 months is usually enough.
- Do you work in English?
- Yes. We plan weddings in English, Spanish and French, and we deal with every Spanish-speaking vendor on your behalf.
- Can we get legally married in Spain as foreigners?
- It is possible but the civil paperwork takes time and residency requirements apply. Many international couples complete the legal marriage at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Seville. We walk you through both routes.
